Intelligent people are critical cause they bother to think what is given to or infront of them. I don't really agree with disgruntled neither with tortured souls as that depends on individual's personality. Some enjoys thinking about everything, while others enjoy people to think for them before then they think.
Smart wise, if you're talking about being practical i would think you mean something along the street-smartness line. I'm sure being overly attention seeking and even cause a defamation suit sent to you isn't something people refer to as street-smartness.

Its not that Singaporean management can't, but alot of time and money is required to invest into research and development, with the Singapore's power market so small its not economically efficient to spent money into R&D. The money could be better use for R&D to develop other industries. Also for TH, the money the get can be used for more overseas investments.
Lion Power who is more experienced in this line, have newer and better technologically advance systems which can reduce energy loss thus 'squeezing' more wattage.

You might want to find a nice place and sit her down somewhere, talk to her nicely and honestly saying that you already have a gf and the both of you can be best friends forever like how it has been, its not the end of the friendship, or you can say that you've always treated her like a younger (i presume) sister (though i must say that this is frequently overused and sounds dumb at times, as if you're a player but if you honestly feel this way then it shall be).
Honesty is the best policy
If she's really into you she might shed a tear or two so preprare some tissues. Just in case. You might also want to get her a warm drink.

"Its singlish which makes us Singaporean" i'm sure many if not most of you find this phrase starkingly familar. Singlish is definately one of a kind. It reflects on our nation as a country with diverse multi-racial and multi-religious culture.
No doubt what XenStar says is true about sounding uncouth, but one can also see it as an intra-singapore language bridging across generations both young and old alike. Like how the chinese in China all speak different kinds of chinese with their different accents and words from their dialects but they too have a common chinese languange also known as 'pu tong hua' ( common language ). They too, use their own variations of chinese to identify people from their own groups who share a common root with them. We could do likewise and take singlish as our own unique variation of english. At the same time making the switch to use proper english to converse with our foreign counterparts.
Furthermore it gives us a common sense of belonging, especially when we're overseas, its more heartening to know that there's this stranger you've met who share something in common with you. That kind of 'qing qie gan' ( familiarity ) can only be felt.
Its just how we want to view singlish as; a cultural jewel or a rotten apple? You decide

Its perfectly understandable that you as his gf will want to be with him for as long as possible over the weekend given that you don't see him for 5 days a week.
Well, it could be that he is in a state of dilema whereby he wants to spent his precious bookout timings with you and yet also wanting to spent sometime with his friends so at the very least he does not loose contact with them.
I think you should wait as firstly you've nothing to lose, since its his lost for not appreciating your care and concern. Also a few months is relatively little as compared to the 5 years you were together with him.
Give him time and space for him to think things over, who knows it might turn out fine after that.
