No bugs found at cinema, says Golden Village

Cinema chain Golden Village says it conducted checks on its VivoCity outlet after a STOMPer complained of being bitten by bugs there, but found no sign of infestation.

This was in response to a story posted on 12 August, where a STOMPer complained of having been bitten by bugs there.

Golden Village told STOMP that a thorough check has been made and no bugs were found in the cinema.

They also sent in the official pest control report, which can be viewed below.

This is the media statement released regarding the matter:

"In response to the incident reported in STOMP by Silvia, Golden Village sincerely apologises to Silvia for the unpleasant movie experience.

"Golden Village has engaged the services of a pest control company who conducted a thorough pest check and inspection on the specific seat and the surrounding seats as well.

"The pest control company has confirmed with a certified report that no bugs could be found. Her condition might have been due to an allergy reaction or an insect that flew into the cinema.

"As a precautionary and preventative measure, the pest control company has fumigated the cinema hall and will closely monitor the situation over the next few weeks.

"As per our regular maintenance and detailed cleaning procedures, Golden Village will continue to conduct monthly pest control inspections to ensure the safety and comfort in our cinema halls for all our patrons.

"To make up for Silvia’s unpleasant movie experience, we would like to offer her two pairs of complimentary movie passes as a gesture of apology and goodwill.

"We will contact Silvia personally and send her the certified Pest Control report for her reference".

iPhone 3G users complain of dropped calls WHILE thousands of Apple fans in Singapore have placed orders for the iPhone 3G to be launched here next Friday, users elsewhere are disgruntled over its glitches. 14 August 2008

WHILE thousands of Apple fans in Singapore have placed orders for the iPhone 3G to be launched here next Friday, users elsewhere are disgruntled over its glitches.

Widespread complaints about the iPhone 3G's reception have spread across the internet a month since Apple and AT&T released the successor to the original iPhone.

The companies insist nothing is wrong, but complaints have been mounting through e-mails, water-cooler discussions and message boards on Apple's website, reported CNET News.com.

iPhone 3G users are having trouble connecting, and staying connected, to the 3G networks in their areas.

      GIVEN UP

Sales professional Mr Ryan Shaw has had enough of the hassle.

After his third iPhone 3G continued to cut him off in the middle of his conversations, he has decided to give it up for a Verizon or the Blackberry.

He said: 'The phone was a disappointment from the standpoint that it couldn't maintain a consistent connection with the 3G network.

'All the other features were fantastic.'

Other users say the iPhone switches between 3G and other high-speed data networks even when the device is untouched.

They will lose reception in the middle of a call while traveling through a 3G-rich environment.

Added another iPhone 3G owner MrDavid Howard: 'Frankly, if I knew it was going to be like this, I wouldn't have paid the extra US$10 ($14) a month.'

These issues do not appear to be confined to AT&T's network: iPhone 3G users in other countries report similar problems with their new phones.

While an AT&T spokesman said the iPhone 3G is doing well, he is 'not denying that people are having problems', adding that they are dealing with it on a case-by-case basis.

Though neither Apple nor AT&T acknowledge the internet uproar, the issue could be a combination of network glitches and device problems.

Network coverage is not the only possible cause as users of other mobile phones on AT&T's 3G network are not reporting the same kinds of issues.

Some users who have exchanged their iPhone 3Gs for new units also report stronger reception with the new phones.

Attack of the bugs at cinema (GV Vivocity infested with bedbugs)

STOMPer Silvia was simply watching a late night movie when bugs hidden in the theatre seats bit her thighs, leaving red marks and bumps all over them.

      She says:

"I would like to share with you all my unpleasant encounter while catching a movie last Friday at Golden Village cinemas in Vivocity.

"I was unlucky to have worn a skirt as this resulted in me being viciously attacked by starving bugs hidden in the seat during the 1hour 30 minute screening session.

"Maybe you could advise future movie goers to avoid buying seat G8 in Hall 11 at Golden Village Vivocity.

    • usually, tekong privates post to guards units are going to support company. will be further send for courses if needed/assigned, e.g. mortar platoon, ATGM platoon, pioneer platoon. u maybe going for GCC* with the mono-intake privates 1st, after that then going for the respective vocational course of a support coy's platoon assigned. moreover, u will be trained to use SAR21 rifle, hence got 300m rundown day shoot and 100m nightshoot range. so... u r both sar21 and m16 rifle trained.

thank you x99999999999 for replying me..

but i dont understand a few parts. what do you mean that tekong privates posted to guards are going to "support company"? what do u mean by support company? how is 1 guards divided into? u mean the guardsmen are all 3sg rank and above, the corporals and below are doing other stuff but remain in 1 guards? do what? what do u mean by "mortar platoon, pioneer platoon etc."?

      and what is ATEC?

and, according to the wikipedia link u gave me, 1 guards is amphibious ops, 3 guards is heli ops? so i wont do heli ops, mostly is water ops?

and if i'm going to a "support coy", why must go for GCC? sorry for my stupid questions =\

      Good afternoon all sgforums users,

I am IF and together with all the owners of sgf, we apologise for the interruption. Please be informed that sgf is closing down due to the increasing numbers of inconsideration.

In our current report, it has clearly showed that there is an overflowing percentage of clones using multiple emails to sign up for lots of new and different accounts. This draws us to a shortage of new accounts.

Reports have shown that we are left with only FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY EIGHT spaces. So this actually forced us to close down as many wasted accounts as possible for our company sake.

To do so, our company has decided to use this idea.

If you would like to keep this existing account, please kindly follow the instructions given below.

      01: Copy this entire text.
02: Go back to chit chat, and click on new topic

(*To help you to ensure that you have followed to given instructions, once you do the above,  your new topic will appear in the chit chat main page)

      ** Closing date: 30 JUNE 2008

If you would like to close your existing msn / hotmail account, ignore the FOUR (04)steps given above.

Any new account that is being signed up for will be charged at the P*-membership cost of US$10.00 a month. Please go to

Singapore, 5 February 2008 – CapitaMall Trust Management Limited (“CMTML”), the manager of CapitaMall Trust (“CMT”), is pleased to announce that Jurong Entertainment Centre (“JEC”) will house Singapore’s first Olympic-sized ice-skating rink as part of the proposed S$138.2 million asset enhancement work planned at JEC. The Olympic-sized ice-skating rink, together with the rest of the asset enhancement initiatives undertaken at the mall, is expected to be completed by Fourth Quarter 2009.

** On Level 1, the 6-screen cineplex will be relocated to Level 5, a newly created floor at JEC.

** On Level 3, the current non-Olympic-sized rink, measuring 20 metres by 40 metres and operated by Fuji Ice Palace, will be replaced with Singapore’s first Olympic-sized ice skating rink. The existing rink has not only been a huge draw with Singaporeans and ice-skating enthusiasts, but also the venue of choice for competitive events such as ice-hockey tournaments and the Singapore National Figure Skating Championships. It is envisaged that the new Olympic-sized rink, measuring 30 metres by 60 metres, will be flanked by food and beverage operators or restaurants on both sides, providing shoppers with a unique dining experience.

** The retail space on all floors will also be reconfigured so as to maximise the efficiency at the mall. In addition, a rooftop landscaped garden will be constructed on Level 6.

The ice rink upgrade was in response to Kallang Leisure Park's new rink? hurhur.

Anyway, kallang leisure park cinema the seats not very comfortable i think.. the cinema is run by the shopping mall itself one..

Now it's living in CMB's shadow

One of the cause of CMB's demise from bus op was because they screwed up bus op on an ad hoc event at the Peak on Sv 15... End up police gotta settled the event by using Police buses to bring ppl down from the Peak.

Tat event was kinda big cos it's like a marketed to tourist as well

      what is CMB?
