Ip problems replied by cantdecide @ Sat, 22 Nov 2008 09:47:46 +0800

Ok. I used to be able to connect to the internet through my
router, both wireless and cable.

But last night I had a problem with Garena cilent (can't log
in), and when i surfed the forums i found out most starhub users
also cant log in. So i call them up and ask them about it. They
suggested I bypass my router and get the internet straight from my
modem, obtaining ip and dns automatically. I can get the internet
to my com but still cant log in to the cilent.

Afterwards, I tried to revert back to using my router as my
brother will be needing the internet as well and it's not possible
for me to hog the cable. But I can't seem to connect to the
internet when I'm connect via lan cable through the router. It
shows I'm connected but something wrong with the dns I think.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad
langauge. Not pro in tech stuff.

Ps. Anyone knows how to solve the Garena Cilent problem too? The
other users are saying about a gateway being down. Bnet can't be
logged in too.

You can support up to 4GB of ram.

However, do note, that if you are using windows Xp / vista
(without sp1), it will show up as 3.2gb of ram. - you are not
cheated. it's just the case.

It will not void the warranty.

Sintex Should be cheaper than in Simlim.

Your current installed ram is 512MB.

When you are getting ram, get those with the "DDRII" -
this would mean the type of ram it is.

Do not worry about the the xxx Mhz - in my opinion you can get
those which are slightly above your front side bus, as,
that's the max speed your ram can read/write at.

System Clock Error replied by kenn3th @ Fri, 21 Nov 2008 22:36:07 +0800

this error appears when you try to set system clock back in order
to prolong the trial version. If this is not the case, it can also
happen if something is wrong with system clock without your
participation (for example, exhausted battery on the motherboard).
Please check if your system clock is correct and try to run the
program again.

Few questions.

1) Does your clock always reset after you switch off your
computer. Reset meaning your time is for eg: 11:29am, however
whenever you switch on your computer, your date/ time will be -
12:00pm ect. - wrong date and time.

2)Have you installed any TRIAL software that
might have expired. - if you do, please state the software and the
developer

Urgent: cannot start the computer replied by kenn3th @ Fri, 21 Nov 2008 22:25:13 +0800

I would reckon it being the Motherboard or the Hard disk.

Look at the hdd activity indicator. after switching it on, does
it like up? what is the colour of the indicator.

The Hdd's clicking sound makes it sound like the reader is stuck
or it has problems reading the data on the hard drive. However,
what puzzles me is that, if it has problems reading, Bios can still
be seen. - that means either the monitor/motherboard has
problems.

It could be a combination of problems, which we will find out in
due time.

The Dvd drive seems to be busy as, the computer is following the
boot up procedure.

every computer has it in it's bios, it would be in accordance to
which will boot up first.

If the hdd (in the first slot) fails, it will go to the nxt on
the list, Dvd drive (2nd slot) to detect for an OS. ect ect. Thus
it could still be a hdd problem and unscrewing and rescrewing will
not resolve it.
